Team (formerly Team Hewitt) is not your average live music duo. Although the instruments are acoustic, the sound is more than you expect from just two performers. With the use of ‘live looping’ technology, a full band sound is created and all your favourite songs come to life, just the way you remember them, but like you’ve never seen before.

Perfect for events where clients and buyers might not think they can ‘fit or afford’ a band or live music, Team Hewitt is a party band that not only provides entertainment, but keeps the dance floor full as well.  Available for your private party or corporate party, Christmas party and wedding reception or ceremony music (the best Vancouver Wedding Duo!).  Return and on-going engagements from Vancouver to Whistler keep this duo in demand!

If you’re looking for the best Party Band Vancouver Duo Entertainment, you need our Team.

Tim Hewitt is the Vocalist / Guitarist of Team Hewitt.  Performing professionally for over 20 years, he brings a wealth of experience to the stage.  Previously a member of Canadian super groups such as; Trooper, Prism and Rymes with Orange, Tim now takes center stage with a wonderful voice and impressive guitar skills.  Performing over 200 shows a year as a solo, duo or band performer, his repertoire and rapport are fine tuned.

Spring Burke rounds out Team with her violin, bringing beautiful melodies and solos, adding sparkle to Team’s sound.  A consummate musician, she holds a master’s degree in Music Performance from the University of Victoria where she studied under Sharon Stanis of the Lafayette String Quartet.  The sound of the violin is a perfect pairing to Tim’s acoustic looping, adding another voice to the mix.

From Classic to Current hits, Celtic fun and more, they offer something for everyone.  Return and on-going engagements from Vancouver to Whistler keep this live music duo in demand!

TEAM

A talented singer and guitarist, Tim has been performing internationally for 25 years. He brings that experience to every event and loves to share his passion for music. Having performed with many of Canada’s greatest music legends, he has an intuitive sense of pacing for any event.

Though best know as a bassist, Timothy B Hewitt has worn many hats in the Vancouver music scene: Vocalist, guitarist, programmer, producer, engineer and mixer.

Beginning by picking up the guitar at age five, Tim moved on to the bass at eight.  “I was in a band with too many guitar players, so I wanted the Gene Simmons’ parts.”, Tim recalls.  “I loved the way I could make pant legs shake”.  No longer the odd man out, Tim became in demand as a player among much older musicians in his home town of Saint John.  This led to relocating to Halifax at age 17 and touring the Maritime circuit with some of the top bands of the time, performing both covers and original music.  His debut shot at writing and recording an EP with his first touring act Fuze, scored a top 5 single on New Brunswick radio.  Soon after, an offer from CBC Fame-Game winners, RazorBoy, found Tim performing in front of crowds of 2000+, at age 19.

Relocating to Vancouver in 1991, Tim quickly established himself on the west-coast.  A short stint with local favourites, Nick Danger, turned into an long term association with John Stoltz, at that time a member of Trooper.  It wasn’t long until Tim was moved over to join Canadian legends Trooper on many tours across the country in support of their come-back albums, “The Last of the Gypsies” and “Ten”.  While enjoying the touring, he also kept active in the up and coming Vancouver music scene, working with the likes of; Damn the Diva, Edgar (Brand New Day), Vancouver Seeds winners WDC and Juno award nominated Rymes with Orange.  While working with the former on their ground breaking “Crash”, Tim was part of the conception, writing and production of the album.

Playing on many national in international releases, Tim has recorded with; Lena, WDC, Heartland, Change of Heart, Rymes with Orange, WDC, Prism and many others.  Along the way, he has offered his skills producing acts diverse as Sean Ashby (Sarah Mclachlan), Montreal punk legends Genetic Control, and his recently completed project, Oliver.  Oliveris co-production with former WDC singer Chad Oliver.  The pair has been recognized for their song writing, winning for Vancouver in the ‘Canadian Radio Star Songwriting Competition’ with the song ‘Find My Way’, (coincidentally the pair’s first composition). They were also named in the top three of December 2005 in the VH-1 sponsored ‘Song of the Year’.  Their debut album “Every Red Light”, was co-produced, co-written, engineered and mixed by Tim.

Tim’s recent projects include; mastering a release for Hey Ocean, Music Producer for the web-series Múmú Ci and co-producing while engineering the latest PRiSM album.

Spring Burke holds a Master’s degree in Music Performance from the University of Victoria where she mentored under Sharon Stanis of the Lafayette String Quartet.  While studying at the University of Victoria, she was the String Chamber Music Teaching Assistant.  Awarded the Muriel A. Raguin Scholarship for top graduate students entering a fine arts program at UVic. She won the People’s Choice Prize at the UVic Annual Solo Bach Competition. On scholarship, Spring has recently attended the Symphony Academy of the Pacific and the Tuckamore Chamber Music Festival.

Completing her Bachelor of Music in Performance at Memorial University of Newfoundland where she earned the University Medal of Excellence in Music, she also received the Dr. Hugh O’Neill Prize in Violin; awarded to the top graduating undergraduate violinist. While studying at MUN she played with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra and the NSO Sinfonia. In the winter of 2007 Spring was a member of the Memorial University String Quartet that toured to Labrador and perform in rural communities.

Some of Spring’s principle teachers have included: Sharon Stanis, from the Lafayette String Quartet and UVic; Nancy Dahn, from the Duo Concertante and  Memorial University of Newfoundland; and Dolores Vann from the Victoria Conservatory of Music.  In the genre of folk fiddling Spring’s principle teacher was Calvin Cairns.  She has also participated in master classes held by Mimi Zweig (Indiana University), Regis Pasquier (Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris), Mark Fewer (McGill University), Jonathan Swartz (Arizona State University), and Sergiu Luca (Rice University).

Spring’s performance experience consists of: public solo recitals; gigs in classical, folk, flamenco, and klezmer music; playing in BC Ferries’ On Board Entertainment program; playing at fairs and festivals across BC; Professional Clowning; playing with B’ys in da Shtetl, a Klezmer band in St. John’s NL; playing in Spanish Passion, a Flamenco music and dance theatrical show; and numerous symphony and chamber music recitals.

Currently living in Squamish BC, Spring is teaching both in Squamish and at Oakridge Music Studio.  Playing violin for over 25 years, she has spent the last eleven years teaching violin to children and adults of all ages and she is well equipped to help a student through all levels of exam preparation.  Striving to find the best approach for each individual student and not relying on any one particular method of teaching, Spring prefers to draw from several methods of teaching to provide a complete course of study tailored to the needs of her students.  She enjoys teaching classical music and European and North American fiddle music.
